After a year immersed in contemporary florals, I found myself drawn to something new, weaving British birds into my work alongside the blooms I love. It's a natural evolution, one that felt inevitable.

My process begins where it always does: behind the lens. I photograph everything, then layer those images with royalty-free references in Photoshop, building the vision I see in my mind. From there, I sketch loosely with water soluble Inktense pencils, forgiving, alive.

Then comes the part I live for: the mess. Water, acrylic inks, spray paint, alcohol inks, each layer builds something unexpected. I'm chasing atmosphere, texture, a sense of movement before the subject even arrives. The palette guides me, but the process surprises me and is more organic.

Once the foundation is set, I underpaint with transparent acrylic inks, establishing form and depth. Finally, water-based oils bring everything into focus, they're what make the painting sing, what transforms layers into something luminous and real.
